Easy Guitar Chords 3

Two more easy guitar chords.

These are a little more difficult than the ones in the previous easy guitar chords lessons 1 & 2,  in that they cover a wider fret span.

Easy Guitar Chords 3-1

Order of Placement:

  1. First finger, 1st fret, B string.
  2. Second finger, 2nd fret, D string.
  3. Third finger, 3rd fret, A string.

Easy Guitar Chords 3-2

Order of Placement:

  1. First finger, 1st fret, high E string
  2. Third finger, 3rd fret, B string.
  3. Second finger, 2nd fret, G string.

Helpful hints:

  • Keep your thumb low on the back of the neck.  The lower you keep your thumb the more room you will have to spread your finger wider for chords with wider fret spans.
  • In the 2 chords above make sure and choke your first finger right up close to the fret wire but not on it.  This will give you a little extra room for the fingers farther away to reach their frets.
  • Keep your palm as parallel to the neck as you can.  This also helps in reaching farther up the neck.

Thanks Paul its nice to know people are getting something out of my lessons. I am trying to be as clear as I can with out being too wordy.

Thank you for the lessons. I was searching for links to learn guitar online and all of them were like “learn guitar in 10 days” or “pay so and so amount”. I was in need of some serious instruction. So thank you for making this so comprehensive and hassle free.

You are right, there are no tricks to learn fast other than good advice along with slow ,accurate and consistent practice. I try to keep my lessons short thorough and to the point. Be sure and read some of the blogs I wrote under the Basics tab if you haven’t already. That is where I go into more detail about some important topics on practice and technique. Thanks for your comment!
