Major Pentatonic Scale

CAGED Major Pentatonic

Important characteristics:

  • Major Pentatonic is a 5 note scale.
  • Sounds good and can be used on all diatonic major chords.
  • Can be used over the I, IV or V chords.
  • Uses the  1st,  2nd,  3rd,  5th  & 6th degrees of the Major Scale.
  • Sounds good over a Major blues.
  • The end of each shape is the same as the beginning of its neighboring shape.
