Root Position 7th Chords

Root Position 7th chords are used commonly in Jazz, Classical and Popular music.  They are more colorful than your typical triad and add a lot of flavor to music.  This page is for all the different ways to voice them in the root position and deals with the 5 basic chord qualities for 7th chords: Major 7, Dominant 7, minor 7, minor 7b5 (a.k.a half diminished) and diminished 7.
