Quarter, Half and Whole Rests

Just as you have Quarter, Half and Whole notes to tell you when to play,  we also have Quarter, Half and Whole rests to tell us when not to play.

Here they are:

Whole rest– silence held for 4 beats.

Half rest– gets 2 beats of silence.

Quarter rest– silence for 1 beat.
